Rice3 and Edwards are the 2 on that list that puzzle me the most. Rice has never realyy been teh "starter" and The Vikes continue to rotate DE. I really like Robison, and I want KU to come back but people need to remember he is coming back from a serious Medical issue and wll need time.
People also need to remember that Kenechi is a sackless wonder at DE.
Great run-stopper, but not so good getting after the QB.
The primary job of the LDE is run stop and containment, not sacks.
Ray Edwards had 5 sacks from the same position last year, matching the numbers that Udeze put up.
    Wasn't Reggie White an LDE?

On running plays, the job of BOTH DEs is to keep containment.
On passing plays, the job of BOTH DEs is to get after the QB.

I'm not trying to stand up for Keneche because I was as pissed as anyone he had 0 sacks in 2006 but I wonder if the Leukemia had anything to do with his lack of sack totals.

Udeze led the team in tackle's for loss. The LDE usually has a TE lined up in front of him, on both running and passing downs. But saying Edwards is on the bubble is not a well thought out statement. Adding Kenechi back in the rotation, only makes us better. Allison, had better punch his ticket to Al Davis land. Sidney will surprise, and become our #2 WR, Wade #3, Harvin #4, and Holt, because his return abilities, put him a notch over AA, and Reynard.

I wasn't implying that Edwards was on the bubble.
I was pointing out that sack total by a LDE is not normally the stat that matters the most.

When are you going to realize that picking out the 20 bad throws this year and ignoring the 300 good ones does not make your point?

I can see someone has been paying attention to the yutz who keeps getting on that whole LDE/RDE soapbox.
