The Vikings & the NFL Draft - A never ending disappointment

The Minnesota Vikings and the NFL Draft - A never ending disappointment

My favorite NFL franchise, the Minnesota Vikings love to make the die hards suffer during the NFL draft.
Since 1995 they have passed up on a lot of great talent....

Wow, how insightful.
I was just thinking about how much of an idiot I am for not winning the lottery, they told me the winning numbers.

The picks of Underwood and Williamson can be questioned certaintly.
Hopefully after the 2007 class, the team is on an upward swing with players that will contribute.

Shoulda, coulda, woulda...I think another solid draft, which isn't a exact science(hard as they try) will go along way in balancing out the blunders of the past.

Funny article!
But the writer is a bit harsh on the vikes. Everybody has bad drafts almost all the time. It's impossible to draft perfect!
Like when everybody passed on Bob Sanders in the first round of the 2004 draft. He was awarded the "AP defensive player of the year" this year.
And in the same draft, everybody passed on Wes Welker in the whole draft, he became a free agent.
Chester Taylor was picked in the 6th round in 2002 and Brian Westbrook was selected in the 3rd round that same year.

Man, I wish I had a time machine, then I would go back and make the perfect draft!

As if every other team in the league has had all of their draft picks make it.
That's a rediculous article.
Maybe he should also look at draft picks that panned out just fine.
Like everyone else has said hindsight is 20/20.

Hindsight is 20/20 but you gotta give the writer credit.
He did some very good research and truth be told, the previous regime flat out sucked at drafting.
Hell, the day we gaffed on getting our pick in cause our GM was to busy getting played by another team, was one that will forever be one of the most embarrassing days in all of Viking fandom.

As to our team missing out on prime talent for nobodys, I blame that at the feet of a cheap ass owner who wouldn't fund an adequate scouting staff.

Long story short, the Wilf Ownership group has provided Scott Studwell what he needs to adequately scout/research the proper talent that fits the scheme the coaches have laid out.
End result, Spielmen and company now have the right guy targeted and get the right guy in the right place.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

I see he convenienty forgot last year's draft where the Vikings had virtually the best of any NFL team.
