Vikings might take a plunge in the free agent talent pool

Vikings might take a plunge in the free agent talent pool

Personnel chief Rick Spielman said the team could be more aggressive this year if a blue-chip guy is available.

INDIANAPOLIS - Rick Spielman isn't eschewing his belief that it's best to build through the draft, but the Vikings vice president of player personnel also knows that with veterans such as safety Darren Sharper and nose tackle Pat Williams only having so much time left in their careers the franchise might be well served to be active in free agency when it begins a week from today....

Poised and ready to pounce on a... J Porter,
or ? Just hope if we go after a WR, they will want to play here in Minnesota. Gotta convince them T-Jack can get them the ball, and they will be doing more than downfield blocking for Adrian, and Chester.

At 31 years old (this season), How many years could he possibly have left?

He still has 2-4 yrs left, and is a well rounded reciever, good not great spead, size, and would be a excellent target for Tarvaris, while being a mentor to our young guys. Wade in the slot, Rice, and Porter out wide wouldn't be so bad.

For some reason I can't get past the by lines on the stribs links lately here at work.
Must have a viagra pop up or something our firewall is stopping.
;D

Anyway, now that Z found some extra money for us ( ;D) I look to see them sign 1 each (WR, S, DE) but I don't see them breaking from the norm and signing a guy this isn't coming off his first contract, has some upside and will be on the team for a while.

Kindof narrows it down when you talk about guys like Porter.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

I would also rather see Berrian over Porter.
I wouldn't mind Stallworth either.

LOL.
Are you sure you didn't read the article?

The receiver, defensive end and safety positions likely will be where the team puts much of its focus this year.

I don't like Stallworth..........he seems to have too much baggage.
Going from New Orleans to Philly to New England in the course of a couple years is a flag for me to stay away.......

I never lie.....
Seriously, I can't get the whole page to load. Stops at the byline.
Probably some popup that our firewall won't let load so the rest of the page won't load.

At least thats the excuse the minions told me yesterday when the same thing happened.
;D
