Vikings make questionable draft pick with Adrian Peterson

Vikings make questionable draft pick

Matt Rydberg
Issue date: 5/3/07 Section: Sports

"......Instead, we get Adrian Peterson, like a Mustang that has been in a couple accidents, it may look pretty, but the bluebook says . . . virtually worthless. Peterson was good his sophomore year, arguably one of the best with comparisons being drawn to Billy Sims and Marshall Faulk. However, in his junior and senior years, he got progressively worse in the stat book. Carrying for fewer and fewer yards each season."

All I can say to this joker's article was my first car was a beat up Mustang, 302 with a 4 speed and it was really fast, blow the oil pump racing a Porsche.
Porsche blow a main seal and lost ;D

I also have great respect for Robert Smith as a player and a person, who's to say what injuries any player will suffer in a season, but having CT and AP both sharing the load chances are they will be healthier for the season.
Chester was showing the wear and tear of the mileage late in the season last year.
Hope the pair workout like Hoard/Smith and for more seasons together.

Quinn brings charisma, big name recognition, a steady reliable arm, an almost perfect bill of health, a spotless criminal record and most importantly, a willing coachable attitude, all things a struggling Vikings team needs.
AD brings charisma, integrity, maturity, big name recognition and big play possibility, great field vision, fast and powerful legs, a spotless criminal record and most importantly, a willing coachable attitude, all things a struggling Vikings team needs.

What a douche.

The author is an IDIOT!

Robert Smith didn't retire all broken down...he retired at the top of his game!

And he doesn't think that Quinn jerseys would have sold AT LEAST as much as Peterson jerseys?

The fact of the matter is this..AP is like a Lamborghini...one of a kind...while Brady Quinn MIGHT be a Corvette...certainly not a custom-made vehicle, but one that looks good on the road and might perform decently for awhile...but certainly one that won't stand the test of time with the all-time greats...either in automotive OR sports history.
On the other hand, AP could be one of the best RBs in NFL history before he is done!

I love the Vikes pick.
THis is just a desperate attempt to deflate the Vikes bubble.
The fact of the matter is that we have had one of the best drafts I can recall.
And the "plan" Childress has said he's had all along is starting to show itself.
Patience grasshopper..........

Why question AP's character?

At college, this kid from Oklahoma knew Peterson and his dad. We talked about him last year when Texas won the national championship. Petersons dad is a preacher, and my friend said Peterson was one of the nicest guys he has ever met. He said they talked after church all the time, so I have pretty good reason to believe AP is not a thug.

agreed. I dont care what people say about AD I know he will be a great help and CT will help him carry the load. It shall be interesting to see how AP do, I belive he can be the rookie of the year.
