Vikings make 'casual inquiries' about Eric Moulds.
http://www.startribune.com/510/story/1076522.html
The Vikings have made casual inquiries about free-agent receiver Eric Moulds, released earlier this month by Houston. Moulds, 33, has 732 career receptions for the Texans and Buffalo Bills.

Hell, might as well give him a shot. He can't be any worse then what we have.

Re: Vikings make 'casual inquiries' about Eric Moulds.
I think picking him up and adding one or two WR's in the draft would be ideal at this point. I'd like to go after either Sidney Rice, Anthony Gonzalez or Craig Davis in the 2nd round and Laurent Robinson in the 4th round.
That would give us a decent (not great) depth at WR.
Moulds
Rice/Gonzalez/Davis
Robinson
Williamson
Wade
Carter
Robinson has the capability to be the next Marques Colston. He's from a small school (Illinois State). But he's 6-2, around 190-200 lbs. and didn't drop a ball at the combine. Oh yeah, he runs a 4.38 40. Not bad.
And I still have some hope in Williamson (not much), but I think he'd be a good #3 WR with Wade being a #4.
Even though the most likely depth chart will look like this (if we sign moulds)
1. Moulds - 4. Rookie - 5. Carter
2. Wade - 3. Williamson
Oh well.

Damn, I almost went to Illinois State but went to Northern Illinois University instead. I haven't heard of this Robinson guy, I should read up on him.

He'd be a good pickup as long as he's not overpriced.
We really need a veteran receiver to move the chains.

He's pretty old, but it would hurt to sign him for a year and see if he can help.

I m like a Ja Rule poster, cause I'm off the wall.

The guy's got great hands and can move the chains. Think Wiggy + 3-5 yards. We could use veteran leadership at the position, and we already have speed receivers. I say sign him up for a season.

I like to read between the lines on everything, even to the point of being anal about it sometimes.
In this instance I would add that Moulds was with the Texans.

Carr was released by the Texans.
HMMMMMMMM
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Re: Vikings make 'casual inquiries' about Eric Moulds.
Probably the best guy out there at a need position.Sign him to a two year deal and draft a couple of guys.Childress doesn't seem too inclined to address the obvious needs of the team this year. This has me worried...
Still waiting for the drugs to kick in...
