Re: Vikings Lift Transition Tag on B. Williams

I don't know what to think about this.

Brian Williams is an up and coming cornerback in the NFL.

But if he leaves, it won't be so bad.

Now that I think about it, your right, he wanted Fred Smoot's job, he didn't want to be the nickel cornerback.

    Heres what I think :

They did it becausse they know C-Pep is going to Oakland and they will be getting Charles Woodson in return.

It makes perfect sense, Woodson wanted out of Oakland.
What you are implying is that there is some sort of agreement between the Raiders and Vikings involving Woodson, but that makes absolutetly no sense. As of right now the Raiders have nothing to do with Woodson, and have already agreed to go their separate ways. The Raiders could care less where Woodson ends up (so long as it isnt in their division).

    Chuch.

Maybe they're planning on trading Pep for Denard Walker
    I'd kill someone....

But seriously, we'd be better off putting McKinnie at corner.

Its tuff to see him go, he's one of my favorite players, and one of the very few late round draft picks that actually turned into a good football player.

Thing is he didn't want to be here, his problem, ship his ass out.

Anyways i'm super exited about smoot and his new found work ethic, his preperation for next season has me pumped.

I guess I would be happy either way.
Kind of the way that I thought but who is going to play CB for us in the Nickel? We need depth in order ot win.

They lifted the transition tag because of the new rule in the CBA that states that the players salary with a transition tag is guarenteed. Even if you have money to burn like the Vikings do, you don't want to spend over 5 million dollars on a nickelback.

Why not, it isn't like we will use all of our cap space anyway. Why let a quality player leave for nothing, when he could help this team this season one way or another.

I wasn't very fond of B Will anyways, hopefully we can go and get a good free agent this weekend to replace him

    Thanks PurpleMafia
