he starting quarterback job is Tarvaris Jackson's to lose, and Chester Taylor and Adrian Peterson are slated to share the running back duties, but some positions will be up for grabs today when the Vikings hold their first practice of training camp.

Here's a look at some of the top positional battles heading into coach Brad Childress' second season:

any of the t-jack haters notice there was no qb battle mentioned in the article.
    cuz there is no battle.
t-jack has to be the worst qb in nfl history in the preseason for him not to be starting week one.

First, I have seen very few, if any, T-Jack haters on this site.
Secondly, it isn't a lock, probable, but, not a lock.
Third, worst QB in history during the preseason if he isn't starting week one?
    That is really a stretch.
There are many variables that could make that happen, one being him not being ready yet and the coaches making the decision that it would be better to have him sit out for a bit longer.

Our offense will be QB friendly, with a strong rushing attack and a quick attack WCO. Bollinger supposedly has a quicker release than Tarvarus, but I'm a Jackson guy right now. He has to much talent not to be our starter. He will be a solid player this year if he can utilize the talent around him in the WCO scheme. Let's go #7.

    thanx captain obvious.
    variables?
what like getting injured, or for instance, being the worst nfl qb in history during the preseason.
    in other words far fetched.
it's his job to lose and he has to really, really, really lose it.
like ejmat said in a other thread, we need to see if tavaris can be the guy, if we sit him all we are doing is putting off another year figuring out who our qb will be.
bollinger was never brought in to be the future so you can buy in to all that rah rah, no job is safe coach speak, but i would think you'd be smarter than that.
