Vikings | Favre's health key in decision to return
    Wed, 06 May 2009 07:34:43 -0700

Greg A. Bedard, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, reports a possible return of free-agent QB Brett Favre (Jets) to the NFL and the Minnesota Vikings in particular is far from a done deal, according to sources close to Favre. The health of Favre's right arm - he has a tear in the biceps tendon - likely will be the determining factor. In fact, it was the reason he retired for the second time in February. Sources said Favre had a significant tear in the tendon, if not a complete tear. He declined to have postseason surgery, which New York Jets doctors recommended if he wanted to play again. The tear has not improved much in the past three months, sources said.
