He did not, however, accept treatment and he is still vulnerable to the disease.
The CDC has confirmed that the disease is not contagious.

"I have not, and he certainly hasn't, either," Childress said when asked if he has made a decision on his starter. "We're treating it as if it's a regular-season game, so we want to see how far he can come in that period of time, how much confidence he has as he goes in there."
