Vikings initiate trade talks for Bryant McKinnie
Via Tom Pelissero's twitter. They are projecting a 4-5th round pick compensation.

Sorry Rick! Keep up the good work.

A 4th round pick for him!? In a heartbeat! I can't imagine getting anything close to that though, especially if teams know we might just release him anyways.

I'm done trying to stick up for this talentless lazy wigstand. Time to move on.

One reporter already suggested a McKinnie for Osi deal
hmy: Viking nation would go crazy!

Sorry Rick! Keep up the good work.

Re: Vikings initiate trade talks for Bryant McKinnie
that would be unreal if it happened, but not a chance in hell.

I would be quite content if we managed to pull it off. Hell, throw in a mid-round pick even as part of the deal.

I just don't know how we could afford that contract, Greenways, AND AP's. But it would likely take McKinnie plus at least a third. Probably a 2nd.

Re: Vikings initiate trade talks for Bryant McKinnie
I think it's too bad. I would have much preferred that McKinnie came into camp ready to work and the team could deal with other areas of need. His contract was pretty reasonable the rest of the way. When he was in shape and trying he was a pretty good player, probably a top 10 left tackle.
But he was pretty bad a lot of times as well. It's probably the right thing to do for the team if he showed up overweight and out-of-shape.
I find the idea that he has any meaningful value in a trade for a guy like Umenyiora very unlikely.
Thoughts on where he will go... maybe end up back with Tice or retire? When the age of the Vikings came to a close, they must have sensed it. Probably, they gathered together one evening, slapped each other on the back and said, "Hey, good job." - Jack Handey [Deep Thoughts]

If we cut him, he will go straight to the Bears. Book it.
