Wasn't to long ago I was still trying to convince the predominance of you chuckleheads that all this kid needed was some time.

    ;D

    Excellent move IMHO.
How does signing an extension prove anything? Anyways glad to see this happen. Looking forward to doing more Cedric poses.

With exception to Birk of course.

    Im still pissed about that.
Hopefully Sullivan is the real deal.
If the Vikings would have felt like keeping Birk he would have been signed to an extension before the offseason..

    All part of the masterplan
Unless Sullivan was truly showing something impressive last year and going into this year, I am against letting Birk go because this team is built to win NOW.
I'd understand if we were not contenders and we didnt want to keep Birk to save some cap room and avoid paying him alot as he is declining, but if your playing to win now, C is a position you need experience at.
He was a leader on this team, and unless Sullivan plays exceptionally for a 2nd year player, I could see this coming back to hurt us.
I still have faith in Sullivan and truly believe he could do fine, I'd just feel a bit more comfortable with a veteran leader leading us into the trenches.
Ahhh the ole "Built to win now" cliche'.

Teams that are built to win now very seldom win and then are pulled apart cause they were built to win the wrong way (ala the Deadskins).

This team my friend is being built the right way and is being built to win for more than just now....

He is too soft, he can't cover, etc.

or wait... Does the forum actually now understand that he is a good, verging on great player?

Fighting what? I own a Griff jersey.
    I didn't know that.
Anyway, just like to push your buttons sometimes.
When Greenway extends, I will probably remind you of that as well.

Can you imagine how much fun I will have if Cook wakes up and smells the coffee this year?

    Damn I love this site.
