Vikings tag Greenway

Greenway stands to earn around $10 million next year with the franchise tag but the opportunity is still there for the two sides to come to a long-term agreement which would lower the linebacker's salary after an agreement is reached for the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Well out of the choice between him and Rice then I'd pick Greenway every time.

I agree ... this is definitely good news.

Hopefully it means we are negotiating and going to get something longterm and it does not just leave Chad bitter and leaving after this season.

But at least for now, we are keeping him in purple one way or another ... and that is a good thing.

Agreed. Greenway has been solid every season - except his rookie, and that was a fluke. He's quietly put up very impressive numbers. I would MUCH rather pay him than Rice.

He's probably our most consistant and best D player.. He could play in a 3-4 or 4-3 and kill it anywhere

He likes it here and im sure we will be able to ink him for a long term contract
