People need to stop letting the fact that they reached for Ponder affect their perception of the rest of the Viking's draft. We got the absolute best TE in the draft in the 2nd round. In both the 4th and 5th rounds we didn't just get the BPA, we got the best player taken by anyone in each of those rounds (according to NFL.com grades), both of which were positions of need. I'm not going to even pretend I know anything about how the 6th and 7th round picks will affect our team.

Christian Ponder was a reach, yes, but we needed a QB and if he's the guy we wanted, you can't just hope he'll be there in the next round. I'll give that pick a C+ cause it was a reach, but round 2 gets a B+, and we flat-out owned day 3. Overall, I think we did pretty well this weekend.

I like our picks and I think Ponder was the best in the draft, yes in the draft. I think Cam is going to be a huge flop. I think Ponder would be best suited to ride the pine for a year. There are better options in terms of immediate success, but Ponder will blow them away in the long run. Ive watched this kid and he will be good.
Im still concerned with our secondary and dont think we solved it yet. I hope the new TE has an immediate impact for us. Should be interesting season to say the least.
