Re: Vikings Draft-Day Chronicles
Does anyone have an up-to-date depth chart? It would go a long way in anaylzing positions of need.
In general I like to use this chart:
1st rounders: Starters
Rounds 2-4: Potential Starters
Rounds 5-7: Depth
A very vague chart indeed.
Luckily, we are young and can address depth with our wealth of late picks. We could also try to trade up and draft successors to Winfield, Sharper, PWill, and Birk. Of course, when we had 4 picks in rounds 2-4, I wanted to trade up to get another starter. I just find late round picks useless, especially when we have so much depth already."I hate when threads are destroyed by facts and logic."

I haven't update mine (Need to pull that thread backup) to include Allen and about 3 other FA's but it might be a good place to start.
Edit:
Try this V.
Again, hasn't been update lately but you should be able to overcome my sloth.

Re: Vikings Draft-Day Chronicles
Using that roster, I see chances to improve depth at QB, WR, OL, DL, DB. That's it. We only need 5 picks and we still have 7...

Re: Vikings Draft-Day Chronicles
Obviously we need to make a couple of OL picks. If we can get a center to mold with Birk it would be very a very nice addition and we can maybe use an OT with that second round pick to help depth wise when B-Mac gets his suspension handed down.
All in all though ... we look good and we have depth.

Sure he didn't play last year because of injury but niether did Chad and it appears the coaching staff figured out how to work with him as he rehabbed to ensure he was ready to go the next year.
Use your picks in the area of need.
Obviously he was on the roster for a reason.
Maybe, just maybe C isn't a position of need this year.
Of course, one could also take that tact with OT and Chase, but that would be even harder to get you guys to agree on than it is to convince you on a guy who can play both C and G allowing us to let Hicks go.

OT- Everyone knows the BMac situation, and Ryan Cook had a decent year last year, but could use some compitition
QB- Someone to battle with BB for the 3rd QB slot, usually 3rd QB spots are not used for vets, but for young QBs
FS- We could use a better backup than Eric Frampton
DT- Kendrick Allen didnt even play last year, we could draft one late to have him battle with Allen for a roster spot
and that leave 2 picks for BPA, could go TE or CB or WR
Pissing on the Pack since 08'
