Pep got traded for a 2nd.. Yes I know his knee was bad..

    T.O- 3rd round..

We traded the best WR in the game for a 1st round and a average LB.. Why get a back up QB for a 1st?

Daunte did not want to play here, whined, blew out a knee (not sure when he will play), acted like a child. Surprised nobody wanted him, I am not! Miami wanted Drew Brees ahead of him and he was coming off major shoulder surgery!

T-Ho biggest headcase in the NFL has been kicked off 2 teams already, and you are surprised that they only got a 3rd rounder! Parcels is pissed that Jones signed him!

Moss was a royal pain in the a$$ headcase, and you are surprised that we could only get a 1st, Napo and a 7th rounder for him! He already has gotten 2 head coaches fired, how long before # 3?

Maybe if any of these guys had any class and acted like a team player there would be more of a market for them.
What we've got here is failure to communicate.

Pep- Was treated kinda bad by the F.O... It went both ways..

T.O- Yah I can see that..

And Moss... Never really did anything that bad.. U should know the media don't like us bro..

There are a few more trades I should find where superstars went for 1st, 2nd and 3rd rounders.. I know there are more..

Abraham- One of the best DE's in the league.. Went for a 1st.. To Atlanta even.. Yet they want a 1st round for thier back up?

I might as well chime in. I think Schaub is the smart move even if it does cost the first round pick. I'm just not sold on any of the QB's that will go in the second round.

It leaves us plenty of picks. I remember thinking (when he came in for Vick in that game against us) that Atlanta seemed even more efficient than with Vick in the game or, at the least, hadn't lost anything.

He's mobile, accurate and not exactly small either.

However anything more than the first round pick (and, say, Mike McMahon) would, imho, be too high a price.

there will be plenty of good linebackers in rounds 2 and 3.give up the first for schaub. better than giving up the 1st and 3rd next year when he's restricted..the big three qb's this draft have proven nothing.college speed and pro speed 2 different things..schaub is ready to start NOW....

Schaub would be a great backup! Hella better than McMahon. Matt looked good last year in the starts he had as well as the year before when Ron Mexico was hurt. We couldn't even catch up with Atlanta last year when they took Ron out & threw in Schaub. I thought we had a chance to win that game. He's good...alot of upside
schaub sucked in that game! i remember asking myself what all the hype was about him when i watched that game. we didnt win because daunte stunk that game up.
~ He did ok, check out his stats vs the Patriots in week 5

Matt Schaub is a sexy pickup. He's had two years to learn behind Michael Vick and has seen some action in a couple games and put up some nice numbers as well. Out of any backups in the league I think I would take Schaub over anyone. #1 sleeper in my books.

Unfortunately, that's basically the only thing we have to go off of, and to me that's not THAT much more telling than a full college career for some of the rookies.

First you say he's sexy.

Then you say he's had an opportunity to learn behind Vick? Who wants to learn behind Vick?! He doesn't even grasp the offense himself.

Re: Vikings discuss trade for Falcons backup Schaub

My opinion living in Atlanta for the past 16 years as a die-hard Vikings has given me a bit of insight on this topic.

From the games I've seen (both on TV before we had NFL Sunday ticket getting stuck watching the Falcons and in person), we need Schaub. We need to be looking for a long-term solution to our QB situation and McMahon is not it... I think Childress knows what he's doing in trying to go after Schaub. Yes, he may want to start - but as much as I love Brad, I would hate to lose out on Schaub. I don't think we can afford to take a chance on "waiting until next year".

The guy has an awesome arm. In fact... my husband has played against him in softball leagues here in ATL! Kind of nice to see him playing a different sport just to see!

I'm going to be following this story closely! I've been saying for a couple of years now that Schaub is getting the short end of the stick being behind good 'ole Ron Mexico. He needs a place where his talents can be utilized - and I think Minnesota is just that place.
    Staying Purple in ATL!
