The Vikings' defense is off to a slow start in exhibition games this season....

It's just preseason, so don't get too worried about the defenses slow start. They are just playing basic formations, and keeping it vanilla. I know come Monday night in Lamblow there is gonna be a hungry reve'd up bunch. Just gotta get through these last two preseason games without another injury.

When this season starts the defense will be ready.

They, the first string D, actually did alot of blitzing when they were out there.
Infact, the first big runs were to Sharp and Whinny's side with Sharp missing the guy/getting blocked which left it wide open.

Not sure if I would classify that as vanilla.
I sure hope they don't do it anymore whatever it is.

I continue to believe they were just trying out some new schemes that they weren't completely comfortable with and that got exploited a bit.
The Ravens really only had 3 decent offensive plays... the 1 big run by Rice, the QB bootleg that had us all fooled on the same drive, and the missed sack turned into big QB scramble.
Other than those plays (the QB had more yards rushing than passing!), I thought the D was solid.

I look at it as a pendulum.
#1 against the rush in '07 and lacking a pass rush.
Working on the pass rush in preseason, giving up some yds on the ground.
Let the pendulum swing during preseason and hone in during the regular season with a more consistent attack on both fronts.

Didnt the Ravens offense only have 3 decent offensive plays last year using their first teamers all the time?

That is exactly what it looked like from my seat my friend.
They seemed to be really geared up to put pressure on the young QB and lost a bit of focus/contain while doing it.

I am sure it will come together by game one.

2 more tune-up games and the D will be ready to go...
    We will be fine.
