Vikings DE trivia
Yesterday in the Vikings access blog they asked..
http://ww3.startribune.com/vikingsblog/
...we pulled out the trusty Vikings media guide and charted all the defensive ends the Vikings have drafted in the past 10 years. It’s a large group, nine players in all.
Of those nine players, who do you think has/had the most career sacks? Your only hint is that if you answer correctly, without cheating, you officially count as a hard-core fan.
Well they finally posted the answer little surprised
Anyway, as a reminder, we pointed out yesterday that the Vikings have drafted nine defensive ends since 1999. That includes three first-round picks, two second-rounders, one third-rounder, two fourth-rounders and a sixth. The question we asked: Who among those nine has the most career sacks?
If you guessed a tie  between Talance Saywer (1999, 6th round) and Kenechi Udeze (2004, 1st round)  you would have been right. Here is the entire list:
1. Talance Sawyer (1999)
11
2. Kenechi Udeze (2004)
11
3. Darrion Scott (2004)
9.5
4. Ray Edwards (2006)
8
5. Erasmus James (2005)
5
6. Brian Robison (2007)
4.5
7. Willie Howard (2001)
0
8. Michael Boireau (2000)
0
9. Dimitrius Underwood (1999)

Re: Vikings DE trivia
Thats actually pretty sad if you think about it.
We're so bad at drafting ends, that in the past 10 years the player who has the most career sacks and shows the most promise was Udeze and Sawyer.
Do Marr, still think we should ignore FA and only use the draft?

Re: Vikings DE trivia
It was Udeze of course. Yet people got so hung up on the fact that he didn't record a sack in 2006 that they called him a bust.
I was one of the damn few who stuck up for him because I knew better.

Re: Vikings DE trivia
All in all, none of those numbers are impressive anyway.
It remains our biggest need. It sucks that I sit here and fear another season of getting picked apart by opponents because of the lack of enough pressure up front.
Thanks to PPE for the sig.

Kindof like the potential here.
4. Ray Edwards (2006)
8
5. Erasmus James (2005)
5
6. Brian Robison (2007)
4.5
No reason why either one of these 3 can't get in double digits this year.
In fact I think 2 of them probably will.
We just need a guy at LDE.Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.
