The draft, at least as it pertains to the Minnesota Vikings, is pretty wide open this year.

How can you rationalize taking TE before QB? Don't get me wrong, I hate Shiancoe, but TE a need? I don't think so.

I actually said something about taking a TE early a month or so ago.
And I was slapped around like a red headed step child for saying it.

It all depends on who is on the board when we pick.
I could see us taking a TE in the third, especially if we addressed DL and OL in the first two rounds and there is no QB available worth a third round pick...

Prepare to be slapped around again. We have Shank, Sauce, and Mills. We have much bigger needs, and I don't see how a 3rd rounder would be an improvement to that group.

I am not sold on Shank at all, and Sauce is a blocking FB only, as well as nearing the end of his career.
If somebody like Fred Davis falls into the third, I would absolutely take him.
