Could the Vikings have another small-school success story in their draft future?

After using last year's first-round pick on Iowa linebacker Chad Greenway, who played nine-man high school football in South Dakota, the Vikings are in need of a pass-rushing defensive end........

Seems like they would really look at both of the top two DE especially since Erasmus just had another surgery.

Supposedly it wasn't much of a procedure and he will be ready by training camp but maybe not at 100 percent.

Ohh they are in the rush for him, ehh.

Got to love the stupidity of headline making.

That pick would make a whole lot more sense than Quinn or any WR at 7th overall.

What they mean by that is pass-rushing

I think, right now, the only rush the Vikings are in is, getting a game plan together for who they are going to try to sign up in FA....



Thats why I've never really put much weight into the draft and all the mocks and stuff, till you see who does what in Free Agency...



We have our share of needs.......DE, ROL, WR, and some may even say QB and DB's .....




We may take care of some of these needs in FA alone, then concentrate on the others via the draft.




My guess is this,...




Childress will go after Daunte Stallworth for a WR......And I still believe we are going to make a push for Carr, in FA...





I can also see us picking up another FA offensive lineman...




Draft day, I think Childress goes to bulk up his D line again, with a Pass Rushing DE......Gains will be his choice..

I agree with everything you said big man.. It would be nice to have a WR with the ability of Stallworth on the Vikings.. I also hope that we can trade for David Carr, he will be a step up from what we have right now. I am not sold that Jackson can have a productive 16 game season right now. He needs time, and having him watch a young talented QB like Carr would do him wonders. Also, if we address our WR need in FA, then I wouldn't mind seeing the Vikes draft Adams.. Especially with James coming off that injury that required that second minor surgery the other day.

OK, let's amend that to read "That pick would make a whole lot more sense than Quinn or any WR who will actually be available at 7th overall."

I agree 100% with ned. Who knows before FA. The raiders could trade for Carr and pick up two WR's and end up picking Joe thomas. Draft projections are basically a crapshoot before FA begins.
