Vikings Claim WR Marko Mitchell
Minnesota Vikings Get Steal With Big Wide Receiver Marko Mitchell
Last Monday, the Super Bowl contending Minnesota Vikings, lacking depth at wide receiver, quietly improved the team even more by claiming an obscure free agent, to many in the media and most fans, off waivers.
Marko Mitchell excelled at flanker at the University of Nevada-Reno. He caught 51 balls for 1,129 yards (21.3 average) and eight TDs in 2007, and 61 balls for 1,141 yards (18.7 average) and 10 TDs in 2008.Any man who afflicts the human race with ideas must be prepared to see them misunderstood. - H.L. Kid looks solid, the author is kind of an idiot if he thinks we have any lack of depth at WR though

Re:Vikings Claim WR Marko Mitchell
right... because Reynaud and Lewis are all-pro's waiting to happen.
We've got a good top three, but the dropoff is significant after that.

forgot about that, but the point still stands. neither scream reliable player. They're both bubble players who could be cut at any time. Reynaud probably has the edge just because he does well on punts.i_bleed_purple wrote:

I have to agree with the author. The lack of depth is more strategic.
With another good WR we could take even better advantage of Percy. Nothing overkill, but, 3 or 4 touches out of the backfield a game would be nice.
It would also be nice to have a 4th good WR to let us show more 3 and 4 WR sets. We were darn effective last year in 3 and 4 wr sets.
Not to mention Percy's Migranes. A 4th quality WR would be one of the best things that could happen to this team IMO.None

Good point about Percy's migranes. If he's out, it would be nice to have a reliable guy to fill in. I'm hoping maybe Reynaud might become that guy, he's got a similar build/skillset to harvin, just on a lesser scale. Lewis isn't anything special and Johnson hasn't really had a shot.

Well if were looking for another slot guy for our 4 wide sets this guy isn't the right choice. He's an outside receiver.
