Why wouldn't he get a chance? You don't think he is good enough to beat out Mitchell?Well, you signed him.
It's going to be interesting to see what he can do from the left side and together with Allen. If he gets the chance to do that.
I hear ya about your eval of him, but hey, you guys let the Noodle go, let Kampman go....etc. Seems your staffs ability to evaluate talent seems to be lacking of late. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Packers defensive end Michael Montgomery, who agreed to a one-year deal that is believed to be for around the veteran's minimum of $630,000.
Just veteran minimum contract if he can show he is better the Jayme Mitchell he makes the roster if not we just send him packing.
Kindof a "What have you done for us" feeling with Mitchell. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

My point was more that he most likely won't see the field a whole lot at all. And he's no pass rushing specialist, so he'll be rotational only. There's a big chance that, the times that he sees the field, it might not even be with Allen out there, as well.
Next to that, the year that he did get his chance to play, he did play on a D-line with Kampan, Pickett and Jolly/Cole. Not exactly your D-line, but no slouches either, and he couldn't get to the QB at all.
Although that was from the RDE spot and no the LDE one.
Like I said, it's going to be interesting to see what he can do if he gets out there with the rest of your starters on the D-line. Question is, how much will that happen, but we'll see.
We led the Noodle go to go with Rodgers. I'm going to chalk that one up in the win column. Kampman didn't fit in the 3-4. If anything, I was worried that we where going to resign him. I'm glad that he wanted to put his hand on the ground again and the Jaguars threw some money at him. I wish him the best, he's a great player and even better person, but I'm glad that we didn't get him back."You can look pretty smart if you have a knack for planning ahead. That's Ted. Always will be. Some of you just seem to ignore that fact.
As long as hes wearing a Vikings jersey I will root for him. I care more about the team as a whole than one individual player.
I am NOT here to provide good football insight or rational observations. I am an emotional 19 year old Viking fan and I expect you to adjust your expectations from my posts.

The LDE's primary job is to stop the run. His secondary job is to contain his end from reverses/end arounds, his tertiary job is to get pressure on the QB.
I don't think the Vikes are bringing him in to play LDE in an effort to rush the QB.Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

The fact is, in the cover 2, we rely on pressure from the QB. to be successful. We shouldn`t have to blitz to get pressure, and when we do, we take somebody out of coverage and get burnt. If our LDE was not trying to rush the passer, then all a QB needs to do is move to the right a bit to buy time and pass.

Have you looked at our LDE's stats in this area? Sure, he only got 8 sacks last year, but he lead the league in hits and was tied at 4th in the league with our RDE for QB pressures.Marrdro wrote:
