It always pays to look to the future when managing money. The Vikings have been good at that the last two years.

But this concept of giving up on this season before it begins pisses me off.

The Vikings have made a lot of moves and nobody knows how they will pan out.

If the O-line play is good this year, the Vikings could have a VERY good team.

Even if they suck this year, I'm not the type of fan that gives up.

    I'm a VIKINGS fan.
What takes a quarterback to the next level is not arm strength or mobility or any of that stuff. Its the ability to play on critical downs. Manage third downs, or red zones or four-minute or two-minute situations"

    Dam straight

We will do good this year im not worried. If we still have a losing record its because we have a tough schedual this year. I know this is our rebuilding year but we will still go out and give it everything we got, and hopefully make the playoffs.

I agree. It's very possible that we might have a tough year, but the season is ahead of us, and anything could happen.

As a fan I also use this part of the year to build hope for the season, no matter what the numb nuts decides to write about our team.

Thanks to PPE for the sig.

LJ and Faneca would be very good to add next year... this is assuming they dont get extensions

I love Troy Polamalu, he rocks!!!Other than that im not a big fan of the best free agents list...especially if mewelde can make it into that selection. One things for sure 2008 is a long way off, lets just wait and see what happens.

JJ Cooper can believe whatever he wants.
The Vikings are going to play 16 regular season games this year.
    And you know what?
I bet they win a few of them.

The Vikings have giant question marks at QB and WR, but that doesn't mean they should have done something else.
    The coaches believe in TJ.
They have a lot of young receivers that appear to have some talent.
    Let's see what happens.

Regardless, they'll be a decent team.
They have one of the best defenses in the league (yes, even against the pass- http://www.coldhardfootballfacts.com...999&Category=2), and a talented O-line and backfield.
If the O-line gels this year and TJ isn't terrible, they should be a tough team to beat.
When the age of the Vikings came to a close, they must have sensed it. Probably, they gathered together one evening, slapped each other on the back and said, "Hey, good job." - Jack Handey [Deep Thoughts]

Ruben Brown was one of the better Guards last season replacing a injured backup in the pro bowl.
    Ruben is 35.
    Faneca is 31.
Faneca has a few (3 or so) good seasons left.
Good short term addition and in my opinion could be one of the final pieces for this team to compete at the highest levels this year.

We don't even know who compiled this list, It could have been Sharper Image.
But if you take a look at the list Moore is one of the better ones, it depends what you think of Jamal Lewis and Fred Taylor.

I continue to like your posts Overlord.
IMO there is no reason the Vikes have to forfeit next year.

    Interesting link you got there.
Defensive Passer Rating, not much different then Defensive QB Rating, but still much better then looking only at yards against.
Its good to see the Vikes pass defense #5 at any list.

This guy does point out some positives for '08.
Notably something I did not know about.

If there's good news for Vikings fans, it's that unlike timeouts, you can save cap space. Since it it's a near certainty that the Vikings will have more than $15 million in cap room when the season arrives, they can work deals with players that offer large bonuses for likely to be earned incentives that they'll never actually achieve. By doing that, Minnesota would have all of those bonuses charged against the 2007 cap, but when they aren't achieved, they will be given a credit for that money for the 2008 season. If the Vikes can roll $15-20 million over to the 2008 cap, they can hopefully use it to bring in a couple of big free agents at the time when this and last year's draft classes have gelled into solid veterans.
