Re: Vikings - 2nd Wave of FA Provides Depth

Perhaps, our biggest improvement, has been the way we make those transitions...

Joey Browner to Darren Sharper wasn't all that smooth, with a bunch of who dats in between.
Same could be said from Randle to Williams and probably all the way down...who started at LG before Hutch, Goldberg?
We're filling in the cracks in FA, and drafting talent for the future.
We are truly entering this draft on the wealthy side, with more picks than needs, and plenty of cap too.

It would seem that the future is Bright my PURPLE FREINDS!!!

Re: Vikings - 2nd Wave of FA Provides Depth

The greedy guy in me say to trade them all for 4 second round picks.

trade down 1st for a second and third = 2
    2nds
    use low third and
4th to move up to end = = 3 ends
    trade 2 3rds
    for mid 2nd = 4th

    4 2nds and 4th- 7 still left.

Re: Vikings - 2nd Wave of FA Provides Depth

I've been looking at the 2nd round too.
According to the draft chart, our 1st is worth the exact same as ATL's later 2 of their 3 picks in the 2nd.
Our earlier 3rd and our 4th would get us back into the end of the 2nd too.
Imagine, a 2nd round that included:

Flacco or Henne at QB depth
Balmer or Laws at DT depth
Merling? Campbell or Lawrence Jackson at LDE depth
    And,
Sam Baker or Carl Nicks at OT

And then top S available with our remaining third...Steltz, Zbikowsi, or maybe Josh Barrett.
On top of this, we'd still have a 5th, and 2 in the 6th and 7th.
Which, in the right package, to the right team with enough needs (MIA?) could be enough to give us another third or fourth...

The bigger question though, is, why would Atlanta give up thier rights to pick those guys as well.
Remember, they are looking for alot of talent this year and not just one or two guys.

It would be heaven to get all of them.

Perharps not the Falcons but a team like the chargers or broncos.

Wow that took me like 10 minutes to figure out what you were trying to say. Proofread. Then proofread again. Then click post.

Sorry, I don't have time to do that at work. I'm at a help desk and the calls are always coming in. So sometimes i try to get a thought in before the next call.

If you are having a hard time figuring out what I meant I can explain....

    1) Take our 1st pick and trade it down to get a 2nd and a 3rd. That will give us 2 2nds and 3 3rds.
    2) Take 1 of our 3rds and a fourth and trade up for for a 2nd. That will give us 3 2nds and 2 3rds
    3) Trade the remaining 3rds to move up for a high 2nd. That wil give us 4 2nds and a 5th, 2 6ths and 1 7th.

We can always possibly get rid of a few of the late day picks and keep a 3rd instead.
