Doesn't matter, there's not going to be a draft this year.

If that happens I am canceling Sunday ticket and spending the money on some new fishing gear.

Might as well do it now. An NFL season next year will only happen if the players win their lawsuit against the NFL. That means, a lawsuit has to go to court, and be won within 4-5 months. When's the last time that has happened?

I think it will boil down to whether the owners end up getting to use that TV money and how well the majority of the players have managed their money. Teams like the Cowboys with their new stadiums need to have the games in order to meet the debt obligations on the facility and from what I have read, Jones doesn't have a slush fund to dip into if the revenue stops so in a way he is in a bad negotiating situation.

Also, many of the players overspend and need to have that money to pay for the cars, houses etc that they bought and if it comes down to filing for bankruptcy or settling for a bit less money my guess is they will settle.

It all comes down to who ends up blinking first economically.

This years draft was written into the old cba, therefore it is gonna be held..

If not - any college player would be a free agent..

    Will it matter though?

From what I hear, the players don't want a lockout. They want to play, the union was unwilling to accept what the NFL had to offer. And from what I gather, alot of it had to do with financials for retired players and a rookie cap. The current players would be largely unaffected by the changes. Their current contracts wouldn't be affected. the NFL offered to give a larger salary cap, they agreed to NOT switch to an 18 game schedule for two more years at least, they offered to allow players to retain their health plan for life, as well as much more, which I thought was a great deal. IMO, it's Smith who's being a dink. RIP Upshaw, the NFL needs you now.

I agree that Smith seems to be the fly in the ointment.

Since I'm not a Vikes fan, I volunteer to be the "order taker"

I got one JJ Watt@ 12 gonna have a stroke, (a/k/a "sunny side up") and one trade the 12 to Seattle for their 25 and they get a QB or I'm gonna find another team. (Kevin Cox)

Anybody else? Fries and sodas with that?

    :P
