Viking Update .com Mock Draft!! ALL 7 ROUNDS!!!!

Just read in another post that Quinn wants to go to the Browns.
Well so much for drafting him thank God.
A couple of picks in there are pretty good, especially Quincy Black.
I would still like us to get Kyle Young C-G out of Fresno State.
3rd or 4th round as his stock dropped a little because he was ineligible during the season.
Great for us, that would be an absolute steal in the 3rd or 4th.

That mock sucks, 2 Defensive Ends in a row? then a LB? Then another backup RB?

Only Picks I saw that were decent were Josh Wilson and Quentin Moses, I'm not sold on Steve Smith and I think taking Quinn at #7 would be a huge mistake.

I don't know enough about some of the late choices to know if they are good or not, but the Vikings better damn well not draft Gary Russell.
Let him be some other team's 8-game suspension in a couple years.

Well I have seen worse mocks but not many. 2 DE's? nad Gary Russell who is exactly the type of player that wilf and CVhilly wnat on this team. tqaking Smith in round 2? especially with Gonzales and Davis still on the board?

Now, from what I remember Russel was academically ineligible.... was he in trouble for behavior problems as well?

I don't recall that Russell had any brushes with the law, if that's what you mean by behavior problems, then no.
But he blew off classes, couldn't do what was was required to stay eligible and then showed up for the combine (the most important day of his football life) out-of-shape and slow.

Why is he any good?

The Gophers used 2 running backs and Gary Russell was Laurence Maroney's backup.

Some people including myself thought the Gary was the better college back than Maroney and the kid could score from anywhere on the field on any play.

He wasn't going to classes and was kicked off the team because of academic issues and he was out of football last year, then he showed up at the combine out of shape and ran a terrible forty time something like 4.8 or higher.
It doesn't seem likes he has the drive to be a successful NFL player, but the kid has natural talent and good vision on the field.

He is a big gamble and I doubt it would pay off, but if he doesn't get drafted I would sign him as a free agent and see if you can change his attitude and work habits and get a steal because he has the talent.

Just because he WANTS to go there doesnt mean they will take him, especially if they acquire Green. I like the looks of that draft. I think Steve Smith is a better overall reciever than Dwayne Jarrett, he had more receptions at SC last year. I dont knwo about taking Russell though, has some character issues imo. Its not that hard for athletes to stay in school, they are given advantages
in their scheduling and more leeway than the average student.
As for Quinn dropping to us at 7, i would be pretty pleased with that. ;D
