I don't see how you can say that when Miami ran it basically all year and continued to win with it.Very interesting.
The wildcat isn't really a surprise anymore, so it will be ineffective.
But an option play now and then can't really hurt.
If we can get Peterson on the edge with one man to beat by running an option, defenses could have some issues.
Tad7 is just worried that we could get a QB who could actually beat out Jackson at QB.
Of course, that wouldn't take much.

sure it would, it would take childress & co to actually go after somebody with talent instead of trading for Sage Rosencopter."Mr" wrote:

Re: Vikes Visit With Pat White
Interesting development.
I think its almost a mute point, I don't expect him to be there with the Vikings pick in round 2.
So if they want him its a trade up from the 2nd or a trade down from the 1st situation.
I watched some highlights on him.
Very talented.
Just in case anyone cares he scored a 23 on the wonderlic.
I think its interesting that the Jets took a similar player in Brad Smith in the 4th round a couple years ago.
Smith hasn't had an impact on the team from either a QB or WR position yet.
But maybe White has more potential then Smith who knows, I didn't have the time to compare college stats.Brad Childress is 1-6 in games played Dec. 17 or later.

He didn't do anything.
Pat White is the first quarterback to win four straight bowl games, is the all time rushing leader at the quarterback position, passed for over 6,000 yards and was a nightmare for opposing teams from day one.
When Slaton was his back, it was a ruthless rushing attack that nobody wanted to face.
Pair him up with Peterson and defensive coordinators and players would be pissing their pants.
He was also the most impressive passer at the combine, better than Freeman and Sanchez (Staffy didn't throw).
If he's available in the second, we need to snatch him up.
If Harvin is grabbed in the first, having Harvin, White and Peterson on the field all at one time in the single-wing would be ridiculous.

Watching some of his highlights and combine video I gotta say he throws a great deep ball.

A workout four days before the draft typically means a team has either serious questions or serious interest in a player and needs another look before finalizing its board ranking. White can certainly make an impact on an NFL offense, but the Vikings would have to make some alterations to their scheme in order to maximize his skills.Any man who afflicts the human race with ideas must be prepared to see them misunderstood. - H.L. Re: Vikes Visit With Pat White
I don't know where this guy fits in our power offense, but he is a very versatile athlete. Do we need a Slash type player? Will his college stats translate into the NFL? At 6' tall he is more suited to WR, Punt/Kick returner. I don't see us creating a special package ala "Wildcat" for him. I agree that it would be interesting to see him take a few snaps with AD in the backfield, but we have more pressing needs with our 1st, and 2nd picks. If he was to fall to the 3rd round he would be a interesting aquisition.

Re: Vikes Visit With Pat White
I cuaght a lot of WVU games and Pat is talented. However, I'm not sure that his skill set match the NFLs.
I would rather see us take a couple of players in the 3rd...Infact, I would like us to take Nate Davis with our 5th or 7th pick.
