Vikes to trade up....
Considering the quick jump on new coaches, and the money being thrown at them, and the statements by our owner to win a championship at no expense.
Is it possible we move up in the draft to get Reggie Bush?
Zygi has enjoyed creating stories and rumblings about his determination to win a championship. What better way to take it up a notch than to trade up and take Reggie Bush with the #1 pick in the draft!!!!
Possible?
I think so.

Re: Vikes to trade up....
i don't want reggie bush at all and he can't run up the middle and he's over hyped and too small i'd never trade up for him. i'd trade up for a o tackle before i would get him.
I don t buy Wisconsin cheese.

Re: Vikes to trade up....
Houston, who currently holds the #1 pick needs most help on their offensive and defensive lines. If someone want to get the #1 pick from them, they will have to provide help in one or both of those areas. With Childress coming in and saying specifically in his welcome speech that he's going to focus specifically on building the lines up, I don't think we will trade away any of our quality players in those areas.
Now, we might be able to work a trade with a team further down the line to get someone like A.J. Hawk. But, going after Bush? I don't think that's going to happen.

Re: Vikes to trade up....
I have to concur with Jeff. I dont think Bush is the answer. He is at best a 10-15 carries a game RB and I doubt he will be able to take the pounding he is bound to get in the NFL.

Consider though, we are going to the west coast offense, which does not call for a pounding up the middle style of back. I believe Reggie would THRIVE in a WCO.i don't want reggie bush at all and he can't run up the middle and he's over hyped and too small i'd never trade up for him. i'd trade up for a o tackle before i would get him.
As far as what to trade for him, our #17 pick, next yrs. 1st rd., Cory Withrow, and Rosenthal (the need O-Line help more than we do)

Same thing people said about Barry Sanders (5'8", 185 out of college) who slipped to third in the draft and NEVER rushed for less than 1115 yards (and that was in 11 games), L.T. (5'10, 190 out of college), Emmitt Smith (5'9, 195 out of college) and Marshall Faulk (5'10, 200 out of college) and all of them ended up sucking. Bush is very cmparable to all these guys (6'0 185-195), but with better hands and he will bulk up a little like all athletes who go to the NFL do.i don't want reggie bush at all and he can't run up the middle and he's over hyped and too small i'd never trade up for him. i'd trade up for a o tackle before i would get him.
I know it is the chic thing right now for people to say Bush will not be good in the NFL because "he can't run up the middle" (which is wrong by the way), but barring injury ... he will be an absolute stud ... and he has never had injury problems before. Backs that "can't run up the middle" don't make scouts, agents and whole NFL organizations drool.
All that said ... I don't see any way for us to move up to No. 1 and get him ... though I would give up No. 1 this year and No. 1, 3 next year along with a lineman to get him.
Lineman and backers can be replaced in free agency ... getting someone like Bush is a once in a lifetime proposition

I would rather see no superstars and a team approach to the game with a defense that is in the top 10.

Re: Vikes to trade up....
Reggie Bush will be an oustanding back... just not with the Vikings. While we may take a RBack in the first round, our need is not so great that we need to pursue Bush.
Besides, as stated before, Texans need O and D line help... and sacrificing our lines just to get a back is NOT the answer.Zeus wrote:
When are you going to realize that picking out the 20 bad throws this year and ignoring the 300 good ones does not make your point?

Re: Vikes to trade up....
i cant see us trying to go after him. the amount i believe we would have to give is too much. we would loose our next years 1st rounder and a load of our oline, something we need help in. if we can some how get away with trading a couple of our back up dline, which would start on their team, they mgiht be able to work it out. but i really really cannot see us even trying.
We're bringing purple back.
