Well, if we're going to have purple jesus on our team, it only makes sense to have a purple pope, too.

Hall seems to be more of a Tackler. Not alot of sacks - he could take Udeze's place.

The Vikings couldn't offer Derrick Pope a starting job, but that didn't stop the linebacker from signing with them after making only one free-agent visit....

Derrick Pope drew interest from the Buccaneers, Falcons and Chiefs but in the end he ended up signing a one-year contract with the Vikings. This was Pope’s first visit....

    Re: Vikes sign Pope

I like the signing and the added depth to the linebacking corp but I'm wondering if anyone has heard anything more about the the length of the deal other than it being one year.
Vikes signed Vinny to a 3 year deal, and niners got DT for a 2 year deal, a one year contract just seems a little noncommittal.
Vikes did this with Doss and Tank, both were a bit older, with a couple of dings but end up with 3 safeties Doss/Smith/Tank going or gone at the sametime. Not that this was a huge hole, but a 1 year contract just seems to me to be a bit of a rental player.
