Cook, and Hicks will be assets as backups as the season goes. I'm glad Sullivan has the fundamentals down faily well, I just hope that when he approaches the LOS he can call the correctly locate the MLB, blitzers, and see how the DT line up, so he can call the right line protections

Well, actually I think I said that it would take PL a few weeks to get the scheme down and Cook might start at first, or something like that."Marrdro" wrote:
I thought you said Cook was going to be our starter at RT?TRAINING CAMP: Tidbits From The Offense
Ryan Cook has been getting reps at many different spots.
Bernard Berrian and Sidney Rice have practiced like the starting wide outs they’re expected to be.
Adrian Peterson is still having problems hanging onto passes and on pass blocking drills.

Two good, one bad.
Never once do I think I said this guy wasn't a upgrade over Cook, especially in the long term. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

What you don't seem to get is that I hold Cooks play against the Coaches and FO because they didn't have anything better to run out there.
How can you blame Cook for being the only thing on the roster and hold doing his damn best (even though it wasn't enough) to hold the fort down?

That, by the way, is one of my biggest beefs with the Chiller.
Absolutely hated watching a few of these kids learn on the field over the last 3 years.

I have.Marr have u been catching some tibbits about Sully?
You and I both brought up many times we wished our center would pull
We weren't quite sure if it was the scheme or if Birk couldn't do it anymore
Sully has been loookin good doing it I guess.. So I hope we do more!
Problem is, I am waiting for my Buddy Vikes King to let us know when TC gets into the intense 11 on 11 were they are actually doing it in a intense manner.
Lets see what he does when he has Phat Pat and K-will on his ass a bit, and then mix it up with a lineup of
JA
K-will
Ray or Rob
Ray or Rob
See how he reacts to that stuff. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

I agree.Marr had a soft spot for Cook as did I.. Because he was a college center who was thrusted into the starting line up playing out of position in a game that would be much faster then college
I still feel he did decent considering the circumstances.. he struggled against speed rushers but who didn't? And with penelties .. That was my main issue.. I wished he just stayed still before the snap haha
He is a very very solid back up to have
He will be a very good back up to have.
Dude has big value as a backup.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Can't buy the whole line was my point I guess.
Hicks was a vet that was brought in by the Chiller.
Hutch
McK
Birk
Hicks
? Learn on the go guy....
With one question mark, that was reasonable in my book.

Hard to say.
I think it is getting there.
Problem is, right now we are still only looking at the beginning of year 4 after a team has been totally gutted and very little in the way of FA dollars spent on it.
Lets watch Phil and Sully this year a bit and then I will say yes or no.Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

My answer is a definite yes.
It was as soon as we got Hutch.
Talk about having a ton of learn as you play guys and not spending money.
That was Tice/Red's version of a good line.
