Terrible idea. I've said before that (not like I came up with it myself) the draft is a crapshoot. #1,2 and 2 for one pick is crazy. Get three potentials because I'd bet not all of them work out, but our odds are better with 3 rather than 1. Top ten only means top ten teams need that position. Wasn't Aaron Rodgers supposed to be a #2 pick if not #1? He slid because of pre-draft circumstances for sure, but if a team really needed a QB besides GB he'd have been gone top ten. The only player worth the risk of 3 picks in this draft is Bush. And he's not even worth it in my opinion because of the HWalker fiasco.

This years draft is deep with talent so I think it would be a mistake trading 1st and 2nd round picks just to move up and select a qb. If we need a qb this year I say trade our 1st for schwab and draft a linebacker and some oline help in the 2nd.

But we do need to pick up a qb this year, or next year at the latest to groom since Brad prob will only play 2 years more tops.

Pat Kirwan recently said on the NFL Network that he talked to Childress and that Childress wanted to see what it would take to trade up. Kirwin asked what player he would trade up for and Childress said one of the top 3 QB's. I find it hard to believe that Childress would say something like after the organization has been so tight-lipped. Do you suppose it's some kind of smokescreen?

I figure if we need to invest in a QB that knows how to get future value for the team, charlies the man.

If we only had him before we traded daunte.... maybe the phins would have included a money market fund with that 2nd rounder. :grin:

or we can trade a 1st for Schaub.
