Vikes Go After J.P. Losman?
I really like this idea. I think this guy can be a very good QB. I just think he is in the wrong system. Put him a WCO and he'd fit nice. I hope this move gets done, I'm just not sold on TJ.

Re: Vikes Go After J.P. Losman?
I'm not sold on him at all and don't see him coming in and lighting up our offense.
His one year as a starter in 2006 led to 19 td's and 14 int's which is not going to make him any favorite in our coach's mind and his ave yards per play is pretty low.
YEAR TEAM G CMP ATT PCT YDS AVG TD LNG INT RAT
2004 BUF 4 3 5 60.0 32 6.4 0 17 1 39.2
2005 BUF 9 113 228 49.6 1340 5.9 8 58 8 64.9

The only difference is that Buffalo drafted a QB high to see if they could do better than Losman, while we put faith in our guy and didn't worry about a backup plan. Hopefully we will do the same thing in the draft this year.
If he came I would be happy, but I would be even happier if we pass on Losman and draft a QB in the first couple rounds."I hate when threads are destroyed by facts and logic."

Re: Vikes Go After J.P. Losman?
I personally do NOT like this idea whatsoever.
On paper it may look good, but from what I remember hearing, he's a total locker room poison.
Mewelde Moore played with him in Tulane, and during their bowl game in both their final year of college, Mewelde ripped up the field, going crazy with runs, but they ended up losing badly.
Mewelde said he was a total jack-ass afterwards, like talking all about himself and about how the team didn't play well enough for him and how it might hurt his draft stock.
All the other players pretty much told him to G.F.H.
Then, supposedly in Buffalo, the attitude followed and a lot of players couldn't stand him.
Football is the number one team game, and the better the lockerroom attitude, the better the play on the field.
NY Giants are the perfect example - removing two pro bowlers in Shockey and Barber HELPED the team to achieve their best, since they were supposedly lagging Eli and the rest of the team down.
I say the hell with J.P. baby Losman, and go for David Carr, since he's free, or even Trent Green, who would be a very descent back up with a lot of veteran savvy which he could hopefully use to help T.Jack progress.
If we sign J.P. and he brings ANY negative attitude with him into the lockerroom, I think I'll officially say Childress and Company have zero clue what they're doing while signing QBs.

Re: Vikes Go After J.P. Losman?
I like JP, got to see him light up the Texans a few years back.
340 yds, 3 TDs, and 1 Int.
26 of 38

He has had his moments of brilliance.
He does have some upside, more than KH and BB.

Did he have a better year than Jackson? probably. But do I feel he can either beat out Jackson and take the team to the Super Bowl or come in from the bench and lead us to the Super Bowl due to an injury to the starter? No. I don't even have the confidense in him to go out and win a wildcard game. So no, I think I'll pass.

Re: Vikes Go After J.P. Losman?
another sad QB thread about some sub par qb taking over for tjack when he has only started one season.
you people need to be more patient with him, he is going to be perfectly fine next year, we dont need to waste draft picks on another "unproven" guy

He is as good/maybe better than TJ, and definetly better than Bollinger. He would make a great backup."I hate when threads are destroyed by facts and logic."
