because we have a bunch of guys competing for OLB spots, and not many for the MLB position. Lawrence was an ILB in college and may be suitable for a back-up role in the NFL as an undersized MLB in a cover 2.

Those two sentences tend to contradict one another.

The 1st part is right, but how could Childress (when he was with the Eagles) see something in his practice squad abilities, if he wasn't with the team?

hopefully now in this new era, we can get past the whole "almost but not quite" label and be the new team of the decade

1) Newman is slow
2) we are getting better upgrade for special teams
3) Newman is slow

Newman was our best LB last year except for maybe EJ. He was very solid. I don't know much about Lawrence. I still hope they go after Donnie Edwards.

newman was solid, but he was never gonna be above that, and if you can't improve you decline. hopefully the youth can improve enouf to replace newman at a better lvl.
