Re: Vic Carucci's Top 5 Running Backs in the Draft...
Only thing I don't like about that read is, he has Maroney lacking in recieving skills...
Deangelo has good recieving skills, and in a WCO, I'de rather have a back that can get out there for those screens and catch the ball.
Not worried about a blocking type back as much, WCO, alot of passes are based on a quick release. Ball should be gone before alot of presure arrives.....
I LOVE THE SMELL OF VICTORY IN THE MORNING AIR.

The Vikings will be looking for lineman and linebackers in the draft. The QB and RB slots will be resolved by then, probably within the next week.

The Westcoast Offense is overrated.... Just Draft the best Runner...........thats what running backs do.

You know, I am not even going to read that article. I can't stand Vic Carucci. He is a jerk, and doesn't know half of what the other NFL, ESPN, or SportsIllustrated writers do. Just don't like him, don't like his reads, and don't take to heart anything he says. IMO of course.

Re: Vic Carucci's Top 5 Running Backs in the Draft...
Maroney isn't really lacking pass catching skills..
He was just in a system that didn't require the back to catch the ball..
I read he is confident he can catch just as well as any back in the draft and he is even working on it these days
Denagelo>Maroney>Lendale

It makes sense to go after Maroney than Williams because he seems to be a slightly better RB. We have Mewelde who is an excellent reciever so Maroney might be a better complement to Mewelde's style.
I have my doubts of us addressing RB in FA. Which I am not against. I think we will sign a OL, MLB and maybe a short yardage RB (we missed that so much last year) in FA and pick the best player available in the draft. That opens opportunities to get a good player instead taking what's there to fill a need. We could go RB, QB, LB or another OL.Halo 4. Start another fight.

Thanks to PPE for the sig.

Re: Vic Carucci's Top 5 Running Backs in the Draft...
The only guy I'm interested in is Will Witherspoon. Arrington sounds appealing but I don't think he has the discipline to lead this defense. That was why he had issues playing in Greg Williams defense. He is a free roaming beast of an LB. Exels in WLB I think where you just go cleanup. Peterson's injuries bother me.
I doubt Cowart will be back (because of the Cover 2 requiring fast athletic LBs) and we can't pin the defense on a rookie MLB. So we need an MLB unless coaching is convinced that either EJ or DT is that guy.Halo 4. Start another fight.
