Via trade or draft, Vikings need a DE

With defensive end at the top of their list, the Vikings can fill their biggest hole this week by finalizing a trade for the Kansas City Chiefs' Jared Allen.

The question is, what do they do if it doesn't happen by Saturday's start of the NFL draft? And what are the chances that Florida's Derrick Harvey will be there for the taking with the 17th selection?.....

I'm sure Edwards and Robison love reading this stuff. They are going to be coming into camp with some big chips on their shoulders

I hope they realize how much their own careers will be helped out by bringing in a dynamite DE to play across from them. Allen (or harvey if available) would require so much attention that Robison and Edwards would probably have to worry about getting past one guy (The OT) they wouldn't have to worry about a lot of FB/RB help, or double teams. A move for an all-star DE is not going to HURT anybody, it will HELP everybody!

Looks like the Vikes medical staff will have a say in our first round pick again this year if the Allen deal doesn't get done.....

allen would be a good trade as DE is a must also a must is a QB but i guess we have to wait another year for that

I'm on board with Jackson for this year, but he has to at least show some improvement.
AD, Berrian, Rice and others on the offensive side need to do their part as well.

We'll never find out if the Vikings braintrust were correct in thinking Jackson is the guy if he never plays.

Bringing in a guy like Allen... while teams already have to account for the Williams brothers... Robison & Edwards should have good years

You both missed my point. They both play RDE and the article states that that position is the biggest hole on the team. I don't know of anybody who would feel good about their position in an organization being called the biggest hole. Especially when both of them show great potential.
