Veteran Sanders shocked by impending release

Veteran Sanders shocked by impending release from Patriots

A fourth-round draft pick out of Fresno State in 2005, Sanders has played in 84 games (50 starts) and posted 301 tackles, one quarterback sack and eight interceptions, including a career-high three in 2010. Sanders was due $2.8 million in base salary in 2011, the final year of his contract.
"Any teams out there need a starting safety!!!??," Sanders said tweeted.
We have an opening.... Come chill with us

I could see us looking at him. He doesn't seem like much of a ball hawk but he was always in the right place at the right time. Something we don't really have with any of our safeties. I don't know if it would be a huge upgrade, but I think at this point I'm sure we could put Loadholt at FS and it would be an upgrade.

Half of a quadriplegic turtle would cover better than our safeties have.

Do we think he'll accept $370K? That's where we are under the cap right now. Hopefully soon they restructure CG and/or APs contract.

Kelvin Hayden wouldn't. So probably not. Greenway's deal should have already been done. But AP's deal should have been done before that. We need to lock up AP right now! We can't let him get anywhere near the open market.

Sorry Rick! Keep up the good work.

Just hours after James Sanders was released by the Patriots, he has other teams in hot pursuit.

First in line are the Atlanta Falcons, who will meet with Sanders on Tuesday, according to ESPNís Adam Schefter.

Sorry Rick! Keep up the good work.

Suprised they didn't try to trade him. Sounds like a solid player that could easily start for many teams, ours included.

I know I'm in the minority on this site when it comes to the Pats and how they work their roster, however, let me say this, if the Pats are letting him go, theres a reason.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

It seems to me they have let many plyers leave over the years who have gone on and been productive with other teams.

Their key is they are much better than average at having quality talent behind them that can step in with little or no drop in production and also at tweaking their packages to fit the strengths of the individual players.

Name the players they have released who have done well.

Ty Law is one. But not really. That is honestly all I can think of.
    We're bringing purple back.
