Anyone think the Vikes should be interested in Dunta Robinson?
Is he a FA that we can't sign or a FA that we can sign?
I am not sure the exact rules ... but I think we would be allowed to sign him if one of ours signed elsewhere.
But this is a guy we definitely should be interested in.

Griffin is hurt, Winfield is hurt and old. We need CBs badly.

Yeah ... I am surprised anyone would think that "with Winfield and Griffin" we are set.

They had already relegated Winfield to some nickel duty by the end of the season.

I think that CB is probably one of our biggest needs this offseason.

Where did that resurrected guy go? He was way more intelligent.

I wonder if there is a clause in there that stipulates if we cut a cat, can we then sign a cat of equal value.

Two big contracts I wouldn't mind seeing cut......

Big Mac, for just about anyone.
Whinny, especially if we can bring in someone like Dunta.

I need to go back and dig up the thread about Whinny getting resigned and see how many were happy about it.

    Re:Unrestricted free agents(Thoughts and predictions)

Winfields role in run support has been huge. He is a factor in having a top rated run defense.

His role in pass coverage is not nearly as important. But has been ok in the cover 2, until his injury.

Definately need to be looking down the road with regard to CB.

I thought the rook looked pretty good last year.

I hope most were happy about it and we should still be happy about it. Whinny got repositioned to the nickelback because of his injury not because he has forgot how to play. I am confident Whinny will be back next year at his pro bowl form.

I am worried about Griffin though, so bringing in a cornerback wouldnt be a bad option at all.

I have always thought that Whinny was a liability in pass coverage and don't believe it has anything to do with a injury.

My feeling is that most have been willing to turn a blind eye to that skill set, mostly cause of how good he is when he is allowed to crash down in run support.

Truth of the matter is, I actually started a thread a couple of years ago that recommend he shift to S instead of CB, but was scoffed at for the idea. Kindof makes me chuckle that now I see others mentioning that very same course of action now.
