Two exhibition games into his rookie season, Tyrell Johnson realizes he still has a lot to learn about playing safety in the NFL....

We got us a star in the making, M. Williams may have some trouble getting this kid off the field if he is out through September. I think with Sharper overseeing his play we are going to be OK.

I gotta give props to Rick and company with respect to the talent they've found and how they've been patient in getting them ready, however, .......

I don't know about you guys, but I am tired of watching rookies learn on the field.

You sound like that cat named Marrdro.
He has been preaching patience for two years now.
I bet he is sick of being patient as well.

Tyrell can play ball.....he was a great draft choice, and. he will be a great Viking.
A prediction, based on observations, readings, hunches, etc, he may just rival one of my favorite Vikes of all-time, Joey Browner.
Yes, not in the same way, Joey was arguably a unique, great, player, to be sure.
I just have a very good feeling about Tyrell Johnson; he carries himself like he should be there, indeed, he doesn't apologize, yet, he's gracious.
Tyrell does not compare to Browner, obviously, however, their football instincts are similar............IMO.
Joey brought ALOT more wood and did it for many, many years, I just have a feeling.
On the field, his abilities are obvious.
    Good choice fellas!

Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent

Quick note on Tyrell, he's doing a fantastic job starting at safety as a rookie. Early in preseason he had 3 TD savings tackles, textbook technique. Last night he played a good game, he swarms to ball and seems to be in the picture on most plays, he had a very nice fumble recovery in which he wasted no time trying to pick up. IMO Tyrell is gonna be an immediate upgrade over Dwight Smith and give M Williams a run for playing time.

I'd say MWilliams will be the unquestioned starter, Johnson is still a rookie after all and will make his share of rookie mistakes, but if he keeps up the great play, I'd feel much more comfortable with him filling in if they do decide to let Sharper go next year.
