According to Jeremy Fowler, the Vikings showed interest in defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth prior to his being shipped to New England and also prior to the Vikings signing Remi Ayodele.

This isn’t the first time the Vikings have shown interest in Haynesworth, as they flirted with that idea in the moments leading up to the 2010 Draft over one year ago. The interest, even if it didn’t work out, suggests that the Vikings have some serious concerns about the defensive tackle position and those concerns probably still linger.

The Vikings must really, really, really like the 2010 Chicago Bears roster.

Rumor has it they were looking into free agent safety Danieal Manning, who is a solid return man too, but lost out to the Houston Texans.

Looks like they are still working the wire for a saftey.

I was really hoping we would make a play for Manning. I have always thought he was really solid and a little underrated because of the bigger names on that Bears defense.

Yeah ... I was hoping we would go get him if Weddle came off the board. We could not afford Weddle, but we could have afforded Manning.

I am not sure about the flirting but we better get into some really heavy petting with a few guys in the secondary, an interior DL or 2 and and OL or 2 real quick or they might just as well let Webb run the offense because we are not going to do anything this year without some fixing.
