Twin Cities Press "Not Hard" on Vikes Draft

I do not think the Vikes panicked when they picked trevarius. They had plenty of time and there was plenty left on the board for the vikes to choose at qg. they got the man they wanted.

Good! I always say that you can't judge a draft until years later. Thats when u can judge....2008....if the players we picked haven't panned out by then, then we can start judging....

As usual , I dont sweat the draft picks, and it's not really about what you or I , or anybody else wanted Caj. I dont get paid to analyze the draft, or anything to do with the Vikes, but I will support them, as will everybody else here on this site. We all should take the "wait and see" attitude and go from there. 4 or 5 years from now we can look back and figure how these draft picks panned out, and then decide if our draft was a bust. I'm happy with the picks, but in 5 years..who knows..ask me then.

The editors must have decided they were not going to spread anymore negativity on the Vikings. It had to be a top down decision. They have been negative far too long. Neutral or positive would be nice from here on out. Save the negative for something serious.

Yeah, I blasted the Vikes 'brain' trust on da draft more dan da Minnesota media did, y'know?

But, dat's me. I get mad, I blast away, I get over it, y'know? I'll be happy ta eat crow if dese new mugs toin out ta be real gems.

Now, let's see how our new palookas toin out. Mebbe Foley is a genius, mebbe not. Only time will tell, and me, I gots lotsa time. 10 more years, wit' good behavior. :lol:

Then we should've signed Drew Brees.

I don't know that there was a single QB in this draft that wasn't a project on some level. Certainly not VY, and Cutler needs to learn patience. Maybe Lienert was familiar enough with a pro-style system to start his first year but that's about it.

If Jackson has all the skills that Childress and Co. were looking for then it was a good pick. Childress has a reputation for developing QBs and certainly Jackson will be one of his biggest test. Supposedly the guy has everything they are looking for and is like a ball of clay waiting to be sculpted. If Childress can make this guy an all-pro and remakes this team into a perpetual winner at the same time, it will prove without a doubt that he is a great coach.

Only time will tell.

I'll be hard on their draft, I don't think we really helped ourselves. We had a very poor draft in my opinion and did a lot of reaching for players that we could have gotten later. I'm happy with Greenway and Griffin, but was disappointed with our other selections. Oh well, I guess we'll see how we do!
