Troy Smith
Alright, Mel Kiper was just on ESPN
And he was saying he beleives Troy Smith goes from a second round pick, to a early 4th probably.. After a poor showing at the BCS Championship game.. It displayed alot of the negatives that he had in the game I guess.. And he was questioning his late release and height (5'11)
Personally I thought it was the team that played bad.. No WRs getting open, blocking was horrible, and the D was horrid
Would you guys want to take a shot at him?
I would in the 4th round for sure.. Possibly 3rd.. I think he could be a very good NFL QB.. He seemed to have pretty good accuracy and decent strength.. And his legs were good
So what do u all think? Does anyone else think he will fall into the 4th possibly? And if so, do we get him?

Re: Troy Smith
We have Tarvaris, so the answer is no, we wont draft Smith.

Re: Troy Smith
Yes we do have Tarvaris..
But is he FOR SURE the answer? No one knows yet.. He could be amazing... He could be horrible.. I like the upside with him though
After him we have Brooks.. Not too happy with him
I think it would be wise to pick up another QB.. Just my opinon

Re: Troy Smith
If he is there on the second day when Childress says he wants to get the third QB then yes I would consider it but I need to look at some other prospects to see how I'd rank people around then.

Re: Troy Smith
No Troy he will not be a good QB in the NFL.
We need to pick up Matt Schaub from the falcons and throw him in the mix at QB.

Re: Troy Smith
Great... Another QB that loses the big games.
No thanks... I wouldn't take him with a 7th round pick.

He lost A BIG GAME not all the big games.
Wouldn't you rather say it was your Gator defense that caused that performance, and not his ability (or lack thereof) to win the big games?
Look at they guy's career, and he's been touted as a guy that always performs in the big games.
The only real blemish was his last game.
I guess everybody will be evaluated only by their last college game.
Good luck in the draft Brady Quinn, you'll be lucky to go in the 7th round too.

Re: Troy Smith
He has matured a lot as a passer this year, but I still don't see him as an NFL QB.
He's short, not a game breaking runner, and not a spectacular passer.
I wouldn't be surprised if he proved a lot of people wrong, but I wouldn't use anything more than a 4th round pick on him.

Re: Troy Smith
He is totally overrated.
He doesn't know how to handle the game when his best friend isn't on the field.
He can't make the big plays.
Listen its time for the media and the hype to get over Troy Smith and (Brady Quinn).
The Vikings have had many QB's that can't handle themselves when the game changes or the stakes are raised.
We don't need another Daunte C, Jeff George, Randal Cunningham, Tommy Kramer, Rich Gannon, or Wade Wilson.
We need a Tom Brady, Joe Montana, or Steve Young.
We need a ring.
Not another frustrating loss in the big game.

Tommy was the man.
Just think how good he'd be if he did not play with a hangover.
