    Trent Green

Does anyone else think that signing Trent Green cheaply as our backup veteran QB would be a good idea?

If we got him, I'd hope to hell we never had to see him play

That would be stupid. Lets put this in perspective.
Injury prone, cannot be sacked, cant run, and as Jason Taylor said " scrambled eggs".
Mine as well get a draft pick!

Gotta have thick skin around here sometimes my friend, especially when you talk about specific players.
    ;D

I wouldn't like him because I my biggest concern is TJ and his ability to stay healthy.
Just look what happened to KH last year.
Ole Trent will take some hits behind our OL if he were to come here.
    Probably not a good fit.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

My thoughts exactly, very well spoken sir.

    Re: Trent Green

It's all good, but I wasn't thinking of actually putting him in a position to play, but more of a position to give Tarvaris some veteran advice. I'd say put him third string behind Bollinger but I'd think that his experience would help Tarvaris out alot in practice and such. Another thing I forgot to add was that I was wondering if the Chiefs ran a WCO when Trent was in his prime, becuase that would be kind of crucial to me wanting him to come here. If not, I'd say no like everyone else, but if he's a seasoned WCO vet and we can get him cheaply, I don't see why not bring him in and give Tarvaris someone to look up to.

    Re: Trent Green

I agree he would be very helpful to have as a veteran presence.
Over the past 7 years he's been one of the most consistant quarterbacks in the league, but unfortunately injuries slowed him down the past 2 years.
I wouldn't want him on the field at all, unless ABSOLUETLY necessary, not because i don't think he can get it done, but because if he takes a hard shot he could be done for the season, or worse.
I'm surprised he didn't retire this year.

Lets not kid ourselves, he is a better quarterback than TJ is, but age and concussions have started to catch up to him.
