This is it ladies, gentlemen and I_Bleed_Purple.........

The start of what I believe is going to be the season the makes history.

Comeon......Sing it loud with me my friends...........I've had the pleasure of singing it with quite a few of you.

I hope we all get to sing it quite often this year......

Skol Vikings, let's win this game,
    Skol Vikings, honor your name,
    Go get that first down,
    Then get a touchdown.
    Rock 'em . . . Sock 'em
    Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!
Go Vikings, run up the score,
You'll hear us yell for more. . .
    V-I-K-I-N-G-S
    Skol, Vikings, let's go!

Damn I'm jazzed. (Lots and lots and lots of smiley emoticon things)
ME TOO, ME TOO!!!!!!! I'm so pumped to sing it the first time at the home opener tailgate!!!!! Wishing the summer away sucks, but I want it to be September NOW!!!!

I didn't get a chance to make it to camp today (had to work) and tomorrow i'd only be able to make it to the special teams practice. I'm thinking Sunday will be my first camp report, so be sure to look for my camp updates/observations, and of course, live camp twitter updates

Day one of training camp was quick and painless as every player on the roster reported to Mankato on time. Toby Gerhart was the lone unsigned draft pick going into today but he the Vikings agreed to terms a couple of hours before Brad Childress opened camp with a press conference. So, without further ado, here are the day one camp notes.

    Day 1 camp report

This worries me! He had 6 months to take care of this. Damn it this is our window and we need him at 100%.

Rice also implied that he may have needed surgery on the hip, “A couple of guys thought I should have had it, but I didn’t need it necessarily”, Rice said. If he would have underwent an operation it would have kept him on the sidelines for 4-6 weeks. His injured hip doesn’t allow him to be as effective when making cuts.

My fault Vikes_King I should have put my statement after the Rice article quote.

I am upset about Rice not Gerhart, he should have had the surgery 3 or 4 months ago. If he has to have the surgery now he will miss a huge chunk of the season.

The Doctors and team decided hey didn't have to do the surgery. They may have been wrong.

These are 2 different quotes from Rice - 2 out of 3 doctores told him to have the surgery. - and then the one that bothers me the most there is still time to get the surgery. No there isn't!

Rice said when asked if he now wishes he had undergone the surgery. "We still have time before the season starts up."
Rice said he suffered the injury in the Vikings' loss to New Orleans in the NFC title game. Rice saw three specialists this offseason because of the hip problem and admitted a couple thought he should have had surgery "but but didn’t need it necessarily." Said Rice: "The plan now is just to rehab and getting everything back like it’s supposed to be.” He added that if he had had surgery he thinks he would have been out four-to-six weeks.

4 to 6 weeks plus a couple to get in game shape that means 2 months - tha's 1/2 of the season if he has to get the surgery now.

He should have done it 4 months go and he would have been 100%

Jackson said he learned a lot from watching the future Hall of Famer.

"Just how to prepare for the game, the work you put in during the week to try to make the game as easy as possible, the little stuff he did to try to win the game, just do things to move the sticks," Jackson said. "Just watching him I got some things that probably subconsciously I've learned; I'll probably do it and not even know it."
Jackson ready if Favre is no-show

I thought this little tidbit might interest a select few (see the article about the Noodle working out with another QB)....

Jackson said the two have texted during the offseason

Sorry Marrdro you have another year of Favre to look forward to not T-Jack.
Don't be so sure my friend. The good Lord has blessed in many ways. Maybe, just maybe he will smile on me this year and he will stay at home.

Sad that a long-time Vikings fan like you doesn't even know the words to the damn song.

    The CORRECT lyrics are:

"Go Vikings, run OUT the score," not "...run UP the score..."

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!
