    Re: Trade possibility

    There is absolutely no reason to trade Williamson yet. He has yet to prove himself-yes- but you have to ATLEAST give him a chance!!! he was brought in to replace moss but that doesn't mean he'll explode like moss right away, give him some time now that he'll be used to the NFL and how it works i think he'll be a threat in the next season and ones to come

    Re: Trade possibility

    I'm not sure what this thread is about because I only read the first post. Actually I only read up to where you mentioned Williamson and stopped. I have no idea who you are talking about trading Williamson to, or what we would get in exchange, but I know for a fact that it won't be worth it.

    Re: Trade possibility

    trading williamson would be one of the dumbest things we could do
    and it would cost WAY more than that to get a top 6 pick or whatever you said we should ask for

    williamson will THRIVE in our new wco.

    I was just thinking about trading Troy Williamson and a 2nd round or 3rd round pick to the 49ers for their #6 pick. I just don't think Williamson will fit the WC offense because he doesn't run good routes. The 49ers have no good WR and I don't think Vernon Davis is what they are looking for. The Vikings are then guaranteed one of these players at 6-

    RB Reggie Bush {USC}
    QB Matt Lienart {USC}
    QB Jay Cutler {Vanderbilt}
    OT D’Brickshaw Ferguson {Virginia}
    LB A.J Hawk {Ohio State}
    TE Vernon Davis {Maryland}
    QB Vince Young {Texas}
    DE Mario Williams {NC State}
    Wow, somebody's been playing Madden a little too much!

    Another example why the wheeling and dealing of the draft is left to the professionals!

    Re: Trade possibility

    Williamson is just like any other young receiver, he is improving his route running and will probabaly continue to improve the next couple seasons. I think he will do well in the WCO because he showed last year he has the ability to turn a short reception into a huge gain.

    That said, if the Niners were stupid enough to trade us the #6 overall pick for Williamson and our 3rd round pick, the Vikings had better jump all over it.

    Yeah, I am a huge Florida Gator fan and Chad Jackson has been nothing more than average until this past season. He definately has talent but he needs to be much more consistent to take the next step in his game. The main reason people are drooling now is because of his 40 at the combine. He will be a good WR but it will take time like all rookie WR.

    Re: Trade possibility

    Tice and Co. We got this young guy Williamson who can really burn. We'll put him in on 3rd down and send him long.
    Williamson can run routes just fine. He was misused by the coaching staff last year. He's going to be a Viking star. We need to keep our WR's although I have a feeling Nate's gone.
    My big concern with our wide receivers is, Can they block downfield?
    I see Taylor catching hell on these forums. But he can make the tough and the clutch catch. I didn't think the coaching staff him well last year either.
    What takes a quarterback to the next level is not arm strength or mobility or any of that stuff. Its the ability to play on critical downs. Manage third downs, or red zones or four-minute or two-minute situations"
