Would moving Down in the draft be best?

Yes, I will admit that I would love to get or do anything to get Calvin Johnson. But in reality it is probably not going to happen. Peterson will be more than likely gone, and I am so Anti Brady Quinn its not even funny(ok maybe a little ;D). BUt I really see this draft as having some solid value picks in round 2 and 3. Moving down and picking up anne extra early pick or 2 may IMHO would be a better choice with the Vikes given what there needs are especially at WR Someone like Ginn, Jarrett or Mecham would be avaiable in the mid to late first round and then look at picking up a Solid OL and or DL in round 2 or 3

Trading down or trading up doesn't make sense to me at this point.

FA is first. Go after the guys you want to fill your needs there. After FA is over, then look at your teams needs, who in the draft meets those needs & where they might fall in the draft order.

Then & only then does it make sense to make a decision to stay where you are at or trade up or down.
The voice of reason, wisdom, and common sense makes an appearance!

But this is the off season. Time for unchecked avaricious wonton gluttony of talent aquisition desires.
Not even those in charge know what they will end up with.
The sky is the limit with visions of all manner of unlikely scenario.
Bound with seemingly eternal mental masturbation over one scenario or another is the true fantasy football in my life.
So trading down seems like a possibility to me.

I need to get a life!

If we cant trade up for johnson and we dont get Adams than we probebly should trade down and get Bowe, i think he would be the best fit for us, plus he can be a monster in the redzone blocking and receiving.

You say UP, I say DOWN

There has been a lot of speculation about swapping firsts with the Browns so we can get Calvin Johnson...BUT, it looks to me like we'd give up our 1st, 2nd, and 4th picks and still be a hair short on the value chart.
Probably close enough...but leaving us with only a third, fifth, and seventh...(didn't we give up a 6th this year for Bollinger or someone??)

    How about this option:
Maybe, Carolina wants Quinn to groom behind Delhome for a year or two...they're at 14, we could probably choose from Ginn, Bowe, and Jarrett.
Pick up an extra 2nd and 5th...and get another WR, maybe Rice? and Kalil in the 2nd??
    Or maybe Mike Griffin?
Looks like there will be plenty of talent in the 2nd round...

I know, Calvin is a beast!
But, if something goes wrong, its three picks worth of wrong instead of one...(more if we could trade down)

Anyone else out there afraid we'll give up too much for Calvin...there might even be an outside chance he'll fall to seven, or go #1 who knows?

Of course, if he puts up over 1000 yds and over 10 TDs in his first year, it will make nearly any price seem all right...

No matter what draft value chart you are looking at (and I know they vary widely among teams each year), there is no way that the #7 is worth the #24, #28, and #60.
    NE would be getting screwed.
A closer trade would have us trading the #7 for both first rounders and their third rounder.

This would be a decent trade though.
I am in favor of moving around in the draft because we won't get what we need at #7.
We either need to move up for Joe Thomas or CJ, or down for more picks.

New England Patriots are tight wades and I don't see them wanting the 7th pick or paying that player the kind of money a 7th overall pick gets.
I guess that their recent Free Agent splurge disproved THAT statement!
    LOL

I'm guessing that the fact that Peyton and the Colts beating them this season and winning the Super Bowl really sticks in their craws!
    Heh heh heh!!!

How about a trade with Kansas City for Trent Green and their first rounder for our first rounder?
Hmmmm....we could even throw in Bollinger!
