Just stick with what we have and take a qb late. I agree that if we get in the top five take AJ Hawk. He will have an IMMEDIATE impact whereever he goes.

Re: Trade down in 1st rd then send that pick to ATL for Schaub?

If Matt Schaub is over rated then why is his QB rating 98.1 last year? He is considered by a lot of people to be the best QB on the Falcons!

Vick's QB rating was a 73 last year, JP Losman who Buffalo gave up two 1st round picks for was a 64 QB rating as a backup in his 2nd year. Eli Manning QB rating last year his 2nd year in the NFL 75.9, and Giants gave up a lot to get him. Ben Roethlisberger was a 98.6 in his second year and won a Superbowl!

He has 2 years experience on any QB in the draft, he has poise and has the arm to make the throws.

Why does Atlanta not want to trade him, because they know hat kind of QB he can be.

He is 6' 5" 230lbs 24 years old and probably could beat out Brad Johnson for the starting job this year! No rookie is going to do that, not even Leinart and he would cost a hell of a lot more than Schaub would!
What we've got here is failure to communicate.

another reason they want schaub is while vick is a playmaker(you cant deny that anti vicks) he is injuryprone. they need someone who can step in and still lead their team. they dont want a repeat of the 2003 season?

    i think it was 2003

I think it would be a great move to get Schuab for a late first round pick. We should try to trade down with the Jets at 29 with their 2nd round pick which is like five picks later. Then if we trade the 29 pick for Schuab, we'd still have our five first day picks to get a good LB, CB, and O-lineman. I'd be willing to give them the 3rd round pick we got from Seattle with the 29 pick if it happened. Face it, Schuab is the best QB we can get other than Leinhart and he will cost way less to get.

He had a 98.1 quarterback rating, but only played substantial time in two games. He's also 0-2 as a starter and has a career rating of just 68.8. I think it's very hard to judge a guy off of just 3 or 4 games. IMO, he's every bit as unproven as a rookie.

I wouldn't mine giving up one of our 2nd rounders for him. I agree he may be a little overrated but he's young and could turn out to be great.
I Love Kerry Collins (and John Rocker).
