    Yes.
We DEFINITELY should trade Chester Taylor.
He's a solid running back, but let's be honest here - he can EASILY be replaced.
Maybe his replacement won't be QUITE as good as he is, but that's all the better - it will give Peterson more playing time, and more of a chance to improve as a pass blocker.
When this happens, other teams won't automatically ASSUME we're going to run when Peterson trots onto the field.

NO team needs two starting running backs - the value of a starting-quality backup RB over a merely GOOD backup running back is pitifully small compared with what we could get by trading him.
We could get a good draft pick or two, or we could package him as part of a bigger deal.

Not only do I think it's a good idea, I think that it's going to happen.
Inevitably, sometime during this offseason, we will trade either Mewelde Moore or Chester Taylor - and perhaps both.
Why else do you think they saw so many carries in the first half?
Chilly was trying to boost their trade value.
It's a no-brainer, and it's about time we got our heads out of our dimply buttocks and realized it.
That would be impossible since Memo is a free agent.
Keep Chester for another year at least.

If there was a plan to get another back to continue the 2 headed monster than yes.
If I remember right there were a couple of nice RB's theat were UFA that could be brought in. I would be more in favor of a big back that could pound it.

I think they should keep him. He is part of the reason we had a 5 game winning streak after AD went down. If they were gonna hold onto Memo then maybe trade CT. But it doesn't sound like they are gonna try to resign him.

Actually, I think that the very notion of a "two-headed-monster" is a fundamentally wrong-headed idea - ESPECIALLY when you have a running back who GETS BETTER every time he touches the ball.
We should scrap the "two-headedness" and stick with a traditional backup/change-of-pace back.

And who would that be. Taylor?

    No.
    Peterson.
Tell me, what is our record when Peterson has 20 carries or more?
I won't give it away - you can look it up yourself.

Hmm...perhaps I should be a bit more blunt - KEEPING A MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR BACKUP RUNNING BACK (THE MOST EASILY REPLACEABLE POSITION IN THE NFL) IS A DUMB MOVE. I will be very disappointed if at least ONE of our backups isn't traded for whatever we can get for them this offseason.
    This.
    I agree with this.

It's a bit overkill at that position.
Looking at 'tradable' value CT is our number one bargaining chip, this cannot be denied.
Draft a RB with potential, plenty coming up in the draft.

Detach your emotional strings to this player and let him play elsewhere and be happy for him.
Think of the Vikings, and a trade would yield the best value now, not next year.

I'd say trade him for this reason.
We would improve more at a different position that is a liability than we would get worse at a RB we would get to spell Peterson.
Look at it this way, if we got rid of Chester for a upper class receiver I think our passing game would improve enough that we wouldn't feel it hurt much at all at running back with whoever we would bring in to replace Chester.

    Re: Trade Chester Taylor? poll

personally, I love the 2 back system.
    Pound. pound. Pound.
It worked well this season and it is working well elswhere...

    Minny:
    AP and CT
    Jacksonville:
    Fred Taylor and Jones-Drew
    Dallas:
    Julius Jones and Marion Barber
    San Diego:
    LT and Michael Turner
Denver: Travis Henry and Selvin Young
    Atlanta:
    Jerious Norwood and Warrick Dunn
    etc.etc.etc.

It will prolong both of their nfl careers.

I do want the balance to be weighted towards AP.
