Trade Chester Taylor? poll
I love CT. Hes been one of my favorites for the past 2 years and one of Childress's great signings. But he should be an NFL starter. And I think we could get alot for him. I also think Memo or just about any halfway decent back (maybe draft a RB late in the draft) could spot AD. I think AD will improve ALOT this offseason.

No we need him. Peterson is still young and learning.

With Memo leaving trading Chester Taylor would be stupid as can be.

Never, a 2 back system is more common and needed.
CT is a stud, you do not get rid of a stud.

Re: Trade Chester Taylor? poll
Yes.
We DEFINITELY should trade Chester Taylor.
He's a solid running back, but let's be honest here - he can EASILY be replaced.
Maybe his replacement won't be QUITE as good as he is, but that's all the better - it will give Peterson more playing time, and more of a chance to improve as a pass blocker.
When this happens, other teams won't automatically ASSUME we're going to run when Peterson trots onto the field.
NO team needs two starting running backs - the value of a starting-quality backup RB over a merely GOOD backup running back is pitifully small compared with what we could get by trading him.
We could get a good draft pick or two, or we could package him as part of a bigger deal.
Not only do I think it's a good idea, I think that it's going to happen.
Inevitably, sometime during this offseason, we will trade either Mewelde Moore or Chester Taylor - and perhaps both.
Why else do you think they saw so many carries in the first half?
Chilly was trying to boost their trade value.
It's a no-brainer, and it's about time we got our heads out of our asses and realized it.

Well, I guess that vote is overwhelming!

Re: Trade Chester Taylor? poll
IMO Letting go of CT would be a great mistake.
He would probably prefer to start on another team but we need him for that one two punch with AD.
Wouldn't we just kill ourselves if he ended up in Chicago or even Green Bay for that matter!
I might consider it for an all pro QB but when do you see all pro QB's in trades?
I would give Chester the same carries as we did this year and use him for that third and long back (which seems to happen more than few times a game*sarcasm).
If Chester demanded a trade (rightfully so) it would be devasting to our team because what if AD does go down?
Than we are truly in deep trouble. But just for clarification I did vote for QB on the poll.
Great question with this poll though!

My philosophy
If he is happy here and wants to stay and contribute, then keep him here and do what you can to keep him involved and contributing. If he want to leave and seek greener pastures, do what you can to get him somewhere that helps both of you.

Re: Trade Chester Taylor? poll
Hmm...perhaps I should be a bit more blunt - KEEPING A MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR BACKUP RUNNING BACK (THE MOST EASILY REPLACEABLE POSITION IN THE NFL) IS A DUMB MOVE.
I will be very disappointed if at least ONE of our backups isn't traded for whatever we can get for them this offseason.
