Wow, that was a really nice informative breakdown on the FA market.
Thank you.
Lets pickup one of those WRs!
Anyone of them would vastly improve what we currently have...although that doesn't say much.
Justin Smith and Bennett.
Players from that that may get some interest from the Vikings, IMHO...
(In no particular order)
- [li] Eric Steinbach - He plays LG, but if he could switch to RG it would do a lot to help our line.
Yes, he got arrested this year, but then again, who on the Bengals didn't.
His was for boating while intoxicated.
While I don't want to take away from the seriousness of that... compared to the rest of the Bungals, that is pretty minor.[/li]
[li] Nick Harper (CB), Cato June(WLB) - Could follow Frazier.
June is a very good LB for the Cover 2 scheme, so he would be a great pickup.
If Harper came over, we could release Smoot, saving the cap room, and still maintaining our depth.[/li]
[li] Drew Bennett (WR) - Unfortunately his price tag will end up being higher than his skill set because the WR market is so weak.
But he would be a nice addition to our lackluster WR corps.[/li]
[li] Daniel Graham(TE) - Honestly don't know much about him, but he looks like a decent TE for a WCO.
Of course I thought the same about Wiggy at this time last year... A lot has to do with how he would be utilized.
[/li]
There are some others on the list who would be a big improvement for the Vikings but wouldn't be worth the price they are demanding, like Clements and Stallworth.
And Briggs, Freeney, and Thomas will remain with their respective teams, either through resigning or franchise tags.
I'll bet at least half those "potential" free agents never hit the open market.
i like steinbach from iowa hes solid
The most likely new Vikings on that list is Nick Harper.
Pick up CATO JUNE!! What a man at LB he is.
I agree that Harper and June would be the most likely Free Agent signings following Frazier, Then maybe in a couple years or so we could pick up Bob Sanders. He is a beast.
We just need to make sure that we fill all the holes on D so that we can dominate next season...if Nap leaves, Cato might just be the answer...if not, then I still gotta go with Donnie Edwards!
