Apparently, the Vikings are willing to carry Pep on the roster and let him ride the pine if they can't get anything for him (because we have SO MUCH cap room).

Another crap trade for the Vikings... fantabulous!
Ya know TNT, I don't agree with you 100%, but even if this is a crap trade then all I have to say is "welcome to rooting for the Vikings!" From the way my old man talks, our fan fore fathers put up with a lot worse than two bad trades, so I think we'll live. Also, don't focus on the negative. The team may have traded it's two "best" players in the last two years, but you're looking at a team that was pretty decent last year, with a brand new owner, a brand new coach and a league high in salary cap space to go out and sign free agents. All things considered, I'd say we're in pretty darn good shape.

    Are you guys serious?

You actually believe we will get a 1st round pick for a QB who could get cut in a week?

LMAO! It's like one of the first posts stated. If a trade happens, the best we can expect is a conditional pick in 2007. Not 2006.

If we cut him, like most teams think we will, they won't have to give up anything to sign him.

But I hope we get a third rounder this year and cnoditional picks for next year.
When we were mildly shopping C-Pep, reports were that we were getting offers that included 1st round picks... this isn't the end of the world if we get rid of that busted @$$ and crybaby QB. Just think, a few months ago I had him as one of my favorite players.

Exactly! Some people are too blind and just see Daunte as a healthy Pro Bowl QB, who never came out public and basically say he doesn't wanna be here anymore. Wake up people, we are dealing with a badly injured QB, who told everybody he doesn't want to be here, who is coming off a horrible season before he got hurt, and who has yet to show he is any kind of leader that you need at the QB position.

I bet we end up getting a mid round pick this year and a conditional pick in 07.

Pep and the vikes 1st round for Raiders 1st round. That a very fair trade.

That will never happen IMO. Only way that happens, is if they feel sorry for ripping us off in the moss deal last year and decide to make up for it now.
