I really don't see any mystery in the QB situation since Childress appeared as the HC.

    *Daunte walked.
    *Tarvaris drafted.
*BJ didn't work out as planned.
    *Tarvaris forced into starting role.
*The boys at Winter Park didn't like available veterans for an array of reasons.
*Minimal mentoring from the likes of Bollinger
*Frerotte signed as the 'wandering mentor'
*Tarvaris pans out or Childress becomes scapegoat unless alternative plan works out
*Backup plan: sign another young project QB in the draft with a lot of potential.

    Seems logical to me.
??? What's you sex life have to do with Vikings QB's?

Thats that big thing that caused this mess, BJ was a big disappointment following his decent season
    as Dante's backup/replacement
    I think you'r right.
We were all banking on BJ sticking around for about 2 more years untill TJ was ready to take over.
That never really worked out well, so now TJ has to learn on the fly.
I do like some of waht i've seen towards the end of the season, but he still gets nervous in the big games. (bears, redskins)
Hopefully this year his confidence will go up, and he'll start to turn into the guy Chilly imagined when we moved up to draft him in the 2nd.
I think you hit the nail on the head there, at least how I feel about him.
He definitely seemed shaken at times in those games.
We have to remember tho, this is a guy from a Division II school thrown at the sharks.
If he can just feel more settled in the pocket, he should be fine.

Maybe having Allen scare him in training camp would help....
    ;D
All right ... people keep saying this all the time. JACKSON is NOT FROM A DIVISION II SCHOOL!!!!!! Alabama State is an I-AA school (now called FCS I think). There is a HUGE difference.

    That is all.

No biggie. Just a lot of people on here bag the hell out of taking a Division II QB, which we did not do. Hell, no teams do that. Division I-AA is pretty rare too, and is worth mentioning. But it is a big difference. Hell, Flacco (the guy draft people love for some reason) is a Division I-AA guy.
